The Disney park news just keeps coming, and this time we’ve got two weeks worth of announcements and additions to share with you! Here is the latest news for Walt Disney World and Disneyland for October 13–26:
The Disney Skyliner Reopens
After being closed for a little over a week due to a small collision of cabins at one of the stations on October 5, guests are once again able to ride the Disney Skyliner system. Because of a system malfunction, a few skyliner cabins experienced what appeared to be a minor crash as they were moving through the station and some guests were stranded in the air for around three hours. This accident on October 5 was investigated by Disney, and they have since announced that there have been adjustments in their process, training, and communication regarding the Skyliner system.
Thankfully, no one was seriously injured as far as we have heard and the Skyliner is up and running once again. You can read Disney’s official statement about the reopening of the Skyliner on Disney Parks Blog.
New Galaxy’s Edge Menu Items and Advanced Reservations at Disneyland
According to Disney Parks Blog, Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland received five new menu items on October 16, including a charcuterie plate at Oga’s Cantina, a plant-based sausage pita wrap and cinnamon sugar coated pork rinds at Ronto Roasters, chocolate sea salt popcorn at Kat Saka’s Kettle, and what appears to be a plant-based bao bun burger kid’s meal at Docking Bay 7. While we’re going to pass on the pork rinds ourselves, the rest of the new menu items sound pretty delicious. No word yet on whether these additions will also be making their way to Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios, but we hope they do soon – especially that chocolate sea salt popcorn!
Also announced for Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge is a new reservation window for Oga’s Cantina, Savi’s Workshop, and Droid Depot. Now, guests will be able to reserve their spots for these experiences up to 60 days in advance. So, if you’re headed to California’s version of Galaxy’s Edge, you might want to make your reservations for these experiences as soon as they become available as popular reservations tend to go pretty fast at Disney Parks!

More Candle Light Processional Narrators Announced
Every year, Disney World presents the Candle Light Processional three times a night during the Christmas season. This year the show will take place nightly from November 29–December 30 in the American Gardens Theatre during the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays once again. Each night, special guests narrate the Processional, reading the story of Christ’s birth alongside a choir singing Christmas classics. This year’s narrators include Neil Patrick Harris, Whoopi Goldberg, Gary Sinise, Pat Sajak, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Marlee Matlin among several others, as well as the two most recently announced narrators – Chita Rivera and Warwick Davis.
We love that Disney World holds the Candle Light Processional every year in Epcot and that the incredible story of the birth of Christ is shared with guests in such a beautiful way each night during the Christmas season. If you’re headed to Disney World during the last part of November or in December, we think this show is a must see and highly recommend adding it to your park plans!
